The Alexandra Stadium
The Air Products Stand
Located along the length of one side of the pitch, this is the centerpiece of the stadium, seating almost 7,000 fans. Built in 1999, at a cost of approximately £6million it was ready for the visit of Ipswich in the Carling Cup. The stand holds just under 70% of the capacity of the ground and dwarfs the other 3. It is a total change from the old paddock that was there before and brings the ground into the modern era. Being a single tiered stand, there are no executive boxes here, but whereas most grounds have a dugout for the teams these are situated at the front of the stand - something of a rareity. Inside the stand fans have a range of facilities where beer and snacks can be bought along with numerous TV's showing latest scores. As with any ground the queues for a beer at half time can be pretty long. Also the toilets here are quite extensive. Along the back of the stand is where the ticket office and club shop are located, along with the club offices that us fans don't get to see!
The Gresty Road End
The heart and soul of the atmosphere in the ground is here. Just under 1,000 of us can get in here and is the only place amongst Crewe fans where noise is generated. This stand is behind the goal and gives a good view of the action - for 45 minutes! Facilities in this stand are a snack stand serving pies, coffee etc and at half time the door to the Alexandra Suite (see food & drink guide) opens for a swift pint and to see how badly Stoke and Vale are doing! Before the big stand was built, this is where the away fans were but being a nice club we decided to give away fans the Blue Bell Stand...
The Blue Bell Stand, aka the 'pop' stand
Up to 1600 away fans are located in here, finding themselves along the length of the pitch opposite the Air Products Stand. Fans can get a pie in here, but no alcohol at any time. Some of the unlcuky ones will find a restricted view awaiting them as there are a few support pillars which come down into the middle of the seated area. Apart from that it's not a bad stand. For some games away fans will also be given the Charles Audi stand...
The Family Stand
Seating just 682 this is the smallest and least popular stand in the ground. Behind the seats are a few executive boxes. I can't comment on what they're like as i haven't been in them! This stand is located behind the goal, opposite the Gresty Road End and sits right next to the railway lines. There is also access to food here. Not really much more can be said really.
